Crediting his musical family and schooling with Catholic nuns for his start in the business, Canadian J.P. Nadeau has been delighting piano bar audiences for 40 years. Fluent in both English and French, his repertoire includes easy listening, jazz, blues, show tunes and classic pop selections. Every evening, he assesses the mood of his audience to propel them into the spirit of his music with sing-a-longs, standards or instrumental stylings from Misty to Moonlight Sonata.
J.P. has performed throughout Canada. Since 1999, he has broadened his professional horizons with engagements in Europe, as well as repeat cruise line bookings with Asia and Pacific tours.
J.P.’s wide and varied song list of hundreds of tunes is performed from memory—and with showmanship. In the atmosphere he creates, listeners will find themselves humming to pop classics, while he draws his audiences into an environment of pure fun.
But his success does not come without tireless commitment. He admits that he sometimes will not know a requested song—but not for long. “I go on people's requests,” he said. “If I don’t know a number and enough people request it, then I’ll learn it out of sheer guilt.”
