Nicky Moran has been a renown entertainer in New Zealand for more than 20 years. Most recently, she’s spent the past two years performing on Hurtigruten Expedition cruises exploring the Antarctic and Artic regions.
Nicky has a 400 strong cruise ship song list Nicky sings a large variety of styles and eras: 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, 2000s. Classic rock is her favorite, plus pop, light jazz, country, Gospel and Irish. Her favorite artists to cover are from the 60s-70s Beatles, from 70s-80s Cat Stevens, Neil Diamond, Elton John, Billy Joel, Carole King, Karen Carpenter and Lionel Ritchie.
With a low and striking female voice able to pull off Johnny Cash and sweet soaring melodies, Nicky plays with a harmonizer at times to get the extra backing for her solo gigs. With 12 years classical piano training as her roots and an LTCL teachers diploma she has practiced and performed her way through a musical life. In addition to her experience performing as a keyboardist and vocalist in bands, she also plays guitar, drums, bass guitar and ukulele.
Nicky desires to inspire, bless and bring restoration to heart and mind through all the music. She says, “A song is more than a song, it must achieve something… be it fun, letting go, overcoming, remembering, cherishing, even grieving.”
