Born the son of a small town doctor and talented artist in the Ozark Hills of rural Northwest Arkansas, Patrick learned to sing and play in the church at an early age. When his love and natural talent for music led to piano lessons, his passion for singing while playing was greater than his desire to practice scales and he quickly forged a self-taught path instead. He would set a boom box on top of the piano, put it on the Top 40 station, and play and sing along one song after the next for hours on end. Although he quickly developed his own style, he was heavily influenced by the likes of Elton John, Billy Joel and the Beatles.
It was in 2004 that his talent caught the attention of Paula Abdul at a local event sponsored by Walmart. Consequently, he was selected as a top 12 male finalist on American Idol and performed for 30 million viewers in 2006.
Patrick's performances include covers and originals delivered in a unique style most would describe as "passionately piano driven pop". He has performed in every imaginable setting over the years: churches, with a band at numerous clubs and events throughout the South, in major venues in Las Vegas, a wide variety of private engagements, and has recorded in studios in New York and Nashville. For several years Patrick has worked extensively as a featured solo and headline entertainer for some of the top rated cruise lines around the world.
