Ahmed Eidarous Abdullah is known professionally as Big Joe. He was born in Zanzibar and began his musical career performing in a school band at 16 years old. He subsequently moved to Dar-Es-Salaam to play guitar in a four-piece band. It was later, after moving to Kenya, that he took up the piano and began performing in nightclubs and discos with a nine-piece show band. He then embarked on a solo career, performing in Europe and throughout the Middle East.
With a plethora of electronic equipment at his disposal, Big Joe is able to produce the simplest of tune or a fully orchestrated sound. His repertoire consists of pop standards, old favorites and jazz classics. He also sings in many languages, including English, Arabic, Spanish and Swahili. His deep mellow voice sets the perfect mood wherever he performs.
Big Joe now makes his home in Dubai. He feels that his musical talent is a gift that must be shared. And performing is what he enjoys most in life.
