Lisa York

Piano bar entertainer Lisa York has brought her eclectic style of music to some of the world's finest entertainment venues. A pianist and vocalist since the age of 5, she offers a distinctive mix of smoky jazz, sultry ballads, silky Latin, rhythm & blues and ragtime, with a little New Orleans added. Jon Bream of the Minneapolis Star & Tribune and The Twin Cities Reader’s Tom Surowicz, respectively, have declared Lisa’s voice "passionate, dramatic, subtly soulful, and authoritative." Lisa romances a song. She lives up to her reviews with grace and ease.

Lisa has been in constant demand as a pianist, keyboardist and vocalist locally, nationally and internationally for over 25 years. She has a vocal repertoire in several languages. Her unique vocal and piano style has enabled her to tour worldwide with CBS and MCA TABU recording artists Alexander O’Neal, Cherrelle and Pebbles, working under the direction of Terry Lewis and Jimmy Jam Harris III and also Baby Face and L A Reed, respectively. She has also worked with R&B legend Syl Johnson and blues artist Percy Strother. She has also performed as a backing musician for the legendary 1950s and 1960s acts The Coasters, The Platters, The Drifters, The Marvelettes, The Shirelles, and Fabian. Lisa’s extensive background also includes musical theater, which showcased her talents as an actress and dancer.

Originally from the Midwestern USA, Lisa and her husband have recently made their home in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. When at home there, they perform regularly at Cuates Y Cuetes, with many musical guests appearing along side.
