Canadian Melanie Ross has spent most of the past several years performing with great success throughout Asia, including extended engagements in Seoul, Tokyo and Dubai. This beautiful, young actress and vocalist accompanies herself quite capably on piano—and her vivacious personality wins her friends and followings wherever she performs. Melanie currently performs a wide range of material, from standards to contemporary pop.

Music was always part of her life while growing up in New Brunswick. "My dad's family was quite musical," notes Ross. "His entire family played mandolins and guitars. They would perform at family gatherings."

It wasn't long before Melanie was smitten by the seduction of performing. Years of vocal lessons followed—as did a bachelor of music at Mount Allison University, studying everything from French art songs to Italian opera. Upon graduation from university, Melanie spent several years performing in musical theater and folk and jazz bands. She is also a skilled dancer, having studied ballet, jazz and musical theater dance.
